Young Person Support Worker

Are you passionate about making a real difference in a young person’s life? We are looking for dedicated and resilient Support Workers to join our team supporting young people aged 16–18, including care leavers, who may come from challenging and traumatic backgrounds such as family breakdown, abuse, substance misuse, and exploitation.
About the Role
As a Young Person Support Worker, you will provide day-to-day support to help young people develop independence, confidence, and life skills. This is a rewarding but challenging role where your ability to build trust, remain calm under pressure, and offer consistent support is key.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general emotional and practical support to young people
- Build positive, trusting relationships
- Support individuals displaying challenging behaviours with confidence and professionalism
- Use verbal de-escalation techniques effectively
- Maintain accurate records and reports in line with safeguarding standards
- Work collaboratively with the wider team and external professionals
What We’re Looking For
- Confident individuals with experience or interest in supporting young people
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, recording, and reporting procedures
- Empathetic, patient, and non-judgemental approach
- Ability to manage and respond to challenging behaviours
- A genuine desire to make a positive impact
