We are working with a housing provider which supports young people at risk of homelessness. They offer a safe and welcoming environment where individuals can access practical support such as hot meals, showers, laundry facilities, and use of telephones and computers. As they experiencing a higher need, they are looking for Support Workers in Chichester to join their established team.


As a Support Worker you will engage with the young people accessing the service, build trust and relationships, and enable them to begin their journey away from homelessness towards long-term change.


This is a hands-on, rewarding role ideal for someone passionate about supporting vulnerable people in the community. Previous experience of working with homeless people would be preferred but is not essential.


You’ll work both independently and as part of a team, using strong communication skills to engage, motivate, and support individuals, including in challenging situations with a calm and effective approach.


Responsibilities:
- Work alongside individuals to develop support plans, including risk assessments
- Maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming hub environment
- Support individuals with budgeting and managing finances
- Participate in regular review meetings
- Build and maintain relationships with partner organisations and external agencies
- Prepare daily meals and assist with light cleaning duties
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records


Requirements:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive, empathetic approach to supporting people with complex needs
- Good organisational, administrative, and reporting abilities
- Ability to remain calm and proactive in challenging situations

This role offers full time hours on a rota pattern including weekends and bank holidays and is subject to satisfactory reference check and DBS.
