Deputy Manager (Children’s Home)
Wigan, Greater Manchester
Salary: £37,000 – £38,000

Average 160 hours per month with up to 10 sleeps a month (£70 per sleep)

First for Support are proud to be working alongside our client in their search for a Deputy Manager (Residential Childcare) in Wigan. You will have experience in supporting the Registered Manager in the effective running of a home for children and young people.

Deputy Manager (Children’s Home) Requirements

ï‚·Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare or working towards (or equivalent)
ï‚·Minimum of two years’ experience working in a residential childcare setting
ï‚·Experience of supervising and supporting staff
ï‚·Good working knowledge of legislation, regulations, and guidance relating to residential childcare
ï‚·Ability to maintain accurate records and produce reports
ï‚·A valid driver’s license may be required
ï‚·Enhanced DBS Checks

Deputy Manager (Children’s Home) Key Responsibilities

Work with the Registered Manager to ensure the effective running of the children’s home

Provide leadership, guidance, and support to a team of staff to ensure that the children and young people receive high-quality care

Ensure that all policies, procedures, and regulations relating to the residential care home are adhered to

Promote and maintain a positive culture within the residential care home
Work with children and young people to develop and implement care plans that meet their needs

Ensure that all staff receive appropriate training and development to enable them to carry out their roles effectively

Support the Manager in the recruitment, induction, and supervision of staff

Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided within the residential care home and make improvements where necessary

Act as a key worker for a group of children and young people as required

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with statutory requirements
Participate in the on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support to staff and children and young people as required
