Deputy Manager Children's Residential Home
Salary: £30,500 - £39,000 per annum + sleep-ins
Location: Verwood
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support the effective leadership of a child-centred residential home that is currently home to 2 children. This role is key to ensuring the home consistently meets Ofsted regulations, delivers high-quality care, and promotes positive outcomes for children.
Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will help maintain a safe, nurturing, and stable environment, underpinned by therapeutic practice and strong safeguarding principles.
Key Responsibilities
·Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
·Safeguard and promote the welfare of children in line with legislation and best practice
·Lead, supervise, and develop the staff team to deliver consistently high standards of care
·Manage the home in the absence of the Registered Manager
·Contribute to care planning, risk management, and regulatory compliance
·Participate in the on-call rota
Requirements
·Minimum 1 year's experience in a children's residential management role
·Strong knowledge of Ofsted standards, safeguarding, and quality assurance
·Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Children and Young People (or equivalent)
·Willingness to work towards a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (funded)
·Profficient in de-escalation of challenging behaviours
·Full UK driving licence
This role involves shift work, including weekends and bank holidays.
